Job Description
Overview of the Position The U.S. Probation Office for the Western District of Arkansas is seeking a motivated and dedicated professional to serve as a U.S. Probation Officer. In this judiciary law enforcement role, the officer supervises defendants and persons under supervision in the community and gives the court the information it needs to make sound decisions. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practices. This is an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we supervise, strengthen public safety, and help advance the district’s mission. The district serves 34 counties, primarily in the western half of the state, with headquarters in Fort Smith and divisional offices in El Dorado, Fayetteville, Hot Springs, and Texarkana.
