Job Description

At Job Service North Dakota (JSND), we are committed to Meeting Workforce Needs by connecting North Dakota’s workforce and employers with the resources, services, and opportunities they need to succeed. We are looking for a WIOA Program Advisor to support our Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program in our Fargo Workforce Center. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federal program that helps adults, dislocated workers, and youth prepare for employment and advance their careers through job training, education, career guidance, and employment services. The program supports individuals in overcoming barriers to employment, developing valuable skills, earning credentials, and securing and retaining meaningful employment, with services such as classroom training, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and other support services.
As a WIOA Program Advisor, you will:

• Provide individualized support to clients through career assessments, job search assistance, resume preparation, mock interviews, and soft-skill development.

• Develop action plans tailored to clients’ skills, abilities, employment goals, and individual needs.

• Connect clients with training opportunities, community resources, and partner agencies to help address barriers to employment.

• Build relationships with high schools and students, deliver work-readiness curriculum, and recruit new program participants.

• Maintain accurate client records, complete required reports, and ensure program compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others succeed and enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and connecting people with opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication and customer service skills, experience in case management, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. They will also be comfortable delivering presentations and facilitating group activities, managing competing priorities, and applying critical thinking and attention to detail in their work. Knowledge of community resources and programs, along with strong organizational and time management skills, will help them provide effective support to clients as they work toward their career goals. If you enjoy making a meaningful difference in your community, this could be a great opportunity for you!
