Overview of the Position The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama is seeking applications for a full-time Official Court Reporter in Mobile, Alabama. Located along the Gulf Coast, Mobile offers easy access to beautiful beaches, mild winters, a relaxed atmosphere, an updated downtown, and a relatively affordable cost of living. The city is also renowned as the birthplace of Mardi Gras. The successful candidate will join a highly experienced team of two other Official Court Reporters and become part of a welcoming, collaborative court environment. Rather than being assigned to a specific judge or type of case, the reporter will cover a broad range of civil and criminal proceedings before the District Court’s various judges. The role is fast-paced and demanding, but offers a meaningful and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the work of the federal judiciary.
