This individual will be responsible for work in a multitasking, quick-paced, dynamic environment supporting USAF Warfare Center Large Force Exercises, Operational Test and Tactics Development. Candidate will support planning and execution of Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS), Combatant Command (COCOM), and Major Command (MAJCOM)-level exercises and events.

A Multi-Domain M&S Engineer evaluates complex defense architectures across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains using advanced software tools like AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation Integration and Modeling), STK (Systems Tool Kit), and Satellite Orbit Analysis Program (SOAP). Primary responsibility is to develop multi-domain system models using AFSIM and evaluate their behavior for mission-level decision support, shape military strategies, and innovate solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Scenario Development:
• Develop models of multi-domain systems and software in mission-level simulations using AFSIM
• Create advanced models of air, ground, maritime, and space systems; conduct model evaluation and validation
• Build realistic threat trajectories, target behaviors, and engagement scenarios for missile warning, tracking, and defense systems
• Tool & Script Creation:
• Write assessment and analysis scripts using programming languages like Python, MATLAB, C++ or JAVA
• Apply object-oriented programming to maximize M&S environment scalability and extensibility
• Document model development processes, results, and best practices for knowledge sharing
• Stay updated with the latest AFSIM advancements

Architecture Evaluation:
• Analyze simulation results to communicate system and software effectiveness in real-world contexts
• Run simulations to analyze sensor performance, weapon capabilities, and mission-level outcomes to support military force design

Stakeholder Communication:
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), software engineers, and analysts to maximize Operational Analysis productivity
• Assist in creating technical documentation and presentations for stakeholders
• Translate technical simulation data into clear, decision-quality briefs for senior defense leaders
• Work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment

Desired Skills and Experience:
• 5 to 10+ years working with defense systems, aerospace engineering, or military operations analysis
• 7+ years of experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis, preferably using AFSIM
• Deep understanding of military operations at mission/campaign level; DoD program experience
• Experience with multi-domain scenario development, friendly (US and Coalition) and enemy Order of Battle, and ingestion/digitization of scenarios into M&S systems

Technical Skills:
• Hands-on proficiency with M&S frameworks (AFSIM, STK, or SOAP) and data analysis scripts (Python, MATLAB)
• Expertise in modeling military systems and their behaviors across multiple domains

Education Requirements:
Associate’s Degree with 9+ years of experience, or Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of experience, or Masters Degree with 5+ years of experience. STEM degree preferred.

Travel Requirements:
Routine travel is expected. Candidates should anticipate one week per quarter. Non-traditional work hours may be required. Expectation is that work will be performed onsite.
