Job Description
Electrical Engineer
The Opportunity:
As an electrical engineer, you understand the power behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to supporting the military in pursuing distributed generation, renewable energy, and microgrid goals. We're looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills to perform detailed analysis on electric infrastructure and provide solutions in the areas of distributed generation integration, smart grid implementation, microgrid implementation, and utility investment strategy.
At Booz Allen, you'll use your engineering skills to transform military installations. Our team implements energy assurance projects on military installations. That's why we need you, an electrical engineer, who specializes in electric utility power systems to help us design and develop energy resilient solutions. You'll analyze electric distribution systems and utility substations to identify gaps between the baseline infrastructure and the energy requirements of mission owners.
On our team, you'll directly impact the DoD mission by ensuring that mission owners have access to energy when they need it. This is a chance to use your electrical engineering skills while gaining experience in solving complex problems and working with new technologies. Join us and take on exciting challenges with the military, as we provide resilient energy solutions in support of the DoD mission.
Take on exciting challenges in the DoW with us as we modernize Operations Centers for the Air Force.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
8+ years of experience in electrical power system design, analysis, or engineering

Experience applying the National Electrical Code NFPA 70, including grounding and bonding, conductor ampacity and derating, overcurrent protection, and transformer and raceway requirements
Experience performing or reviewing short-circuit, protective-device coordination, and arc-flash studies including IEEE 1584 or NFPA 70E
Experience with UPS and battery energy storage systems, standby or mobile generators, or source-transfer schemes
Experience self-driving complex projects independently and as a technical lead on larger multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to interpret, develop, and analyze electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and cable schedules
Ability to travel to fabrication, test, and deployment sites up to 25% of the time
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Energy Engineering
Nice If You Have:
Experience with HEMP/EMP hardening including MIL-STD-188-125, TEMPEST, or shielded-enclosure design, including power-line filters and treatment of barrier penetrations
Experience with mobile, transportable, or tactical power systems, or the electrical design of shelters, containers, or skids
Experience supporting secure-facility (SCIF) electrical design or accreditation, and with DoD infrastructure, facilities, and organizations, including coordination with base civil engineering electrical shops
Experience with system safety and reliability analysis, such as FMECA MIL-STD-1629, or hazard analysis MIL-STD-882, and with grounding, bonding, and lightning protection for military facilities or electronic systems including MIL-HDBK-419 and UFC 3-575-01
Experience writing requirements verification matrices, factory inspection and test plans, or field acceptance test procedures, and witnessing them, and releasing designs to fabrication and reviewing vendor submittals and shop drawings
Experience with load flow, short-circuit, or power-system simulation software such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower, and with microgrids, renewable integration, or energy-resilience design for military installations
