Job Description

Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital provides specialized care for adolescents diagnosed with mental health disorders. We are looking for a positive and energetic teacher to work collaboratively with a team of educators.

This unit will work closely with community partners and collaborate with our adolescent’s community schools. This person must have an interest in helping adolescents with mental health disorders while maximizing each student’s potential.
Our educators provide instruction to youth in our Inpatient and Residential Programs guided by a Missouri DESE course of study, but have the ability, as well, to exercise creativity and flexibility in adapting coursework to fit the needs and abilities of the students you teach.
Your time with the students allows you to see the difference we make in the lives of the children in our care. As a teacher at Hawthorn, you will receive ongoing guidance and training with the ability to collaborate with peers, work intensively with other disciplines, and receive
