Job Description
As a Transportation Community Relations Coordinator 2 with the Department of Transportation, you will play a key part in sharing project information with the public. This role brings you into contact with many groups, from local officials to neighborhood organizations. You will help guide conversations, answer questions, and support open communication. Your work will help build trust and support for transportation projects.
This position helps link transportation projects with the needs and concerns of local communities. You will support clear communication between the Department, public officials, community groups, and residents. As a Transportation Community Relations Coordinator 2, you will perform the following duties:
• Public Outreach: Coordinate meeting schedules, prepare presentation materials, and share project details with community groups
• Project Impact Review: Work with district staff to explain transportation project effects and help address community concerns
• Internal Communication: Assist in creating communication tools such as newsletters and fliers to strengthen workplace awareness
• Community Liaison: Provide information to officials, attend group meetings, and support conversations on sensitive community issues
• Media Support: Assist the Press Officer by preparing messages and supporting media interactions during routine and emergency events

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS)
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
• Two years of experience as a Transportation Community Relations Coordinator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of public relations experience promoting programs through mass media, or community organizing experience; and a bachelor's degree; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
