About the Agency

The mission of Specialized Treatment Facility is to promote and strengthen the mental health and the education of up to 48 adolescent males and females who are experiencing behavioral difficulties in their homes, schools, and communities. Employees are charged with the responsibility of promoting and strengthening the mental health of adolescents by exhibiting the core values that are at the heart of this mission: 1. Teamwork 2. Specialized Treatment Facility employs Milieu Therapy as the foundation for the treatment of its residents. Milieu Therapy is a planned treatment environment in which everyday events and interactions are therapeutically designed for the purpose of enhancing social skills and building confidence. This therapy uses common structures familiar to all children, such as daily routines, consistent rules and activities. The Security Officers report directly to the Security Chief. About the Position

The Security Departments primary purpose is to provide general security and to assure a safe environment for residents, employees and facility visitors. It is the policy of Specialized Treatment Facility to have a safe and secure environment which facilitates the growth and development of the residents. The Environment of Care Manual includes a Safety Management Plan and a Security Management plan. The Security Department will abide by the policies of this manual that include: safety management, security management, hazardous materials/waste management, emergency management, fire safety, and utilities management.

What you'll need to be Successful

Needs to be a team player that can work independently with sound judgement. Needs to be mature with the ability to use skills for de-escalation in times of crisis. Needs to be able to use physical skills learned when a threat of danger or safety arises. Needs to follow concise directions and be professional and cleanly.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a High School diploma and 1-3 years of relevant experience. Agency preferred qualifications:
