THE POSITION
As a Real Estate Specialist with the Department of Transportation, you will support projects that shape the future of travel across the state. This position lets you make a difference by working directly with property owners and project partners. Your efforts will help move vital transportation improvements forward. Be part of a mission driven agency that depends on your expertise.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will support major transportation projects by handling real estate activities and guiding property related processes. Your work will ensure that projects move forward smoothly and responsibly. As a Real Estate Specialist, you will perform the following duties:Property Negotiation: Negotiate with property owners and representatives for acquisitions and relocation claims while applying real estate laws and market knowledgeDeed Research: Research deed information, review appraisal data, and discuss project impacts with property owners or representativesClaim Resolution: Review appraisals, present fair market value offers, explain relocation options, and work toward resolving claims amicablyLegal Actions: Initiate declarations of taking when needed, assist owners with relocation efforts, and provide testimony on assigned claimsProject Coordination: Participate in design teams, advise on right of way matters, and assist with consultant coordination and problem resolutionDocument Management: Record deeds and legal notices, prepare court filings, and meet with attorneys to address docket requirementsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50% after a successful probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes). You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
