THE POSITION
Join the Department of Transportation in Lawrence County as a PennDOT CDL Operator and help keep Pennsylvania moving. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position involves operating trucks, loaders, and other equipment while assisting with roadway and maintenance activities. You will complete manual labor tasks, follow safety procedures, and help keep transportation operations running smoothly. As a PennDOT CDL Operator, you will perform the following duties:Equipment Operation: Operate trucks, loaders, and other assigned machineryCDL Compliance: Maintain required licensing and complete daily equipment checksTraffic Control: Perform flagging duties to guide traffic when neededManual Labor Tasks: Use hand tools to clean culverts, cut brush, dig ditches, and repair guiderailsMaintenance Support: Assist with minor repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance workSafety Practices: Follow safety procedures and report hazards, injuries, and equipment issuesInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Travel, overtime and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary:  Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,988.00 (before taxes). You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orGraduation from a Commercial Driver’s License Training School; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Special Requirements:All positions require possession o
