Job Description
This assignment is within the Neighborhood Operations Division (NOD). The employee will be required to collect yard waste within the City of Cincinnati limits. Yard waste is collected seasonally typically between April 1st and December 31st , even in inclement weather (rain, snow, sleet, heat, humidity).Non-CompetitiveThis is a Noncompetitive position that includes an evaluation of the applications to determine if the applicants meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the "Required Education and Experience" section. A Noncompetitive process may also consist of other components, such as a qualifying test, to determine if the applicant is able to perform the duties of the position. Applications that meet the minimum requirements will be forwarded to the hiring department for consideration. Please review the "Required Education and Experience" section for additional information. Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
Must be reliable, show initiative, have a positive attitude, and good work ethic
Provide own transportation
Driver License required. Commercial Driver's License with airbrake endorsement is preferred.
Must be physically fit, able to do "heavy" to "very heavy" physical work:
"Heavy Work" means exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
"Very Heavy Work "means exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and /or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
MILITARY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE EVALUATION
Military education and experience may be substituted for college level course work at the lower and upper division baccalaureate and graduate levels and apprenticeship training at the vocational certificate level on a case by case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations.
