Job Description

Overview of the Position U.S. District Judge Jerry W. Blackwell seeks an exceptionally capable attorney to serve as a law clerk with principal responsibility for complex multidistrict litigation (MDL) proceedings, including a nationwide sugar antitrust MDL and litigation arising from an international commercial aviation accident. The successful candidate will undertake substantive legal research, writing, and case-management assignments and collaborate closely with the Judge, the assigned Magistrate Judge's chambers, and other court personnel. The Judge seeks an attorney with outstanding analytical and writing abilities, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail. Prior experience in complex litigation is valuable but not required. Demonstrated legal ability and the capacity to master challenging issues are more important than years of practice. Start date is as soon as practicable.
