THE POSITION
Are you a skilled tradesperson who enjoys working with your hands to complete a wide-range of projects?  Are you eager to elevate your career while providing essential services to the Commonwealth?  If so, the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) wants to meet you!  Your contributions as a Maintenance Repairman 2 will be vital in ensuring the buildings, facilities, and natural resources within Hickory Run State Park Complex remain safe and operational. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will be responsible for providing skilled work in a variety of the building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry trades throughout Hickory Run State Park Complex. Work locations include Hickory Run State Park, Nescopeck State Park, and Lehigh Gorge State Park. The primary focus for this position will be the Glen Onoko Trail System at Lehigh Gorge State Park, and ensuring for the overall rehabilitation and upkeep of trails. Projects will involve construction, maintenance, and repair of park buildings, facilities, equipment, and natural resources. You will utilize a wide-range of hand and power tools and perform preventative maintenance and inspections for vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure for safe use and operation.Within this role, you will serve as a lead worker to semi-skilled laborers, laborers, and other personnel during the completion of projects. Other general maintenance duties may involve welding, repairing automotive equipment, plowing and shoveling snow, cutting storm damaged or hazardous trees, assembling picnic tables, mowing grass, and painting railings, bridges, and washhouses.Interested in learning more?  Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week, and will include a 30-minute lunch.  Work days and shifts will vary and will include holidays, weekends, and evenings.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
