DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Labor Law Investigators play an important role in protecting workers’ rights by checking compliance with state labor laws and helping resolve workplace concerns. In this role, you will be responsible for: Complaint Screening: Review and assess incoming complaints to determine proper handlingAudit and Investigative Activities: Examine payroll records, timecards, and related documents for compliance, as well as conduct interviews, gather evidence, and inspect worksites to verify potential violationsCollaboration and Education: Facilitate conferences with claimants and employers to resolve disputes, when appropriate, and provide information to employers, employees, and organizations about labor law requirementsCase Preparation: Compile reports, write letters and summaries, and prepare testimony for cases to prepare for potential legal actionEnforcement Actions: Testify as the Commonwealth's expert witness in administrative or court proceedingsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.This position may require frequent travel to the Scranton District Office for training during the first few months.Telework: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
