THE POSITION
As a Labor Law Investigator with the Bureau of Labor Law Compliance, you will play a key role in promoting fairness in Pennsylvania workplaces. This position allows you to learn valuable investigative skills while working with a team dedicated to public service. Your work will help resolve disputes, support investigations, and encourage lawful business practices. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role helps enforce state labor laws and supports fair treatment for workers across the Commonwealth. Work involves investigative duties, communication with a variety of people, and careful review of important information. As a Labor Law Investigator, you will perform the following duties:Complaint Review: Receive and evaluate complaints from workers and employersRecord Examination: Review payroll documents, timecards, and related records for accuracy and complianceInterview Work: Speak with claimants, employers, and witnesses to gather detailed informationCase Documentation: Prepare reports, case summaries, and testimony for matters that may move to legal actionPublic Education: Explain labor laws and requirements to employees, employers, and community groupsSite Visits: Inspect workplaces and project locations to investigate possible violationsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered.
