THE POSITION
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources invites you to become a Human Dimensions Specialist who helps people connect with the importance of forest programs. This role gives you a chance to support meaningful conservation work that reaches communities across Pennsylvania. You will help shape how forest initiatives are understood and appreciated by many different audiences. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports key communication, partnership, and program development efforts that help advance Rural and Community Forestry initiatives across Pennsylvania. The role focuses on outreach, stakeholder engagement, and human dimensions research to strengthen program impact. As a Human Dimensions Specialist, you will perform the following duties:Audience Analysis: Study target groups and identify effective talking points for program messagingStakeholder Engagement: Enhance collaboration with partners and support communication with diverse audiencesProgram Support: Assist in planning trainings and developing guidance to integrate social science into program workCommunication Materials: Prepare brochures, reports, and informational pieces that highlight annual accomplishmentsPartnership Building: Create and strengthen relationships with agencies and organizations to support program goalsGrant Management: Help manage federal and state grant programs that fund human dimensions effortsWork Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.This position may be eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS). This position may require travel as needed. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period.
