THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking caring and dedicated Forensic Psychological Services Associates to join our team at Norristown State Hospital. In this role, you will offer treatment and therapeutic opportunities that enhance patient quality of life and support their recovery process. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will provide specialized psychological services to forensic patients. These patients are either deemed incompetent to stand trial, awaiting sentencing, facing psychiatric challenges that affect their prison adjustment, or have been found not guilty by reason of insanity. Your work will involve completing initial assessments of new admissions, selecting the most appropriate psychological treatment interventions, and determining the structure and focus of therapy sessions. You will then customize positive reinforcement programs to meet the needs of individual patients or specific wards. This role requires the ability to address psychiatric issues and ensure the effective management of referral related forensic cases. Some of your duties will include completing all necessary documentation in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards and participating in forensic meetings and supervisory sessions, Additionally, you will resolve routine unit problems as they arise.Interested in learning more?
