DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Environmental Protection Specialist possesses a high level of expertise in municipal, residual, and hazardous waste regulations, offering essential support to the Operations Section to ensure adherence to Commonwealth laws governing solid waste management. This role includes acting as the project officer for corrective action, remediation, and closure activities funded by Solid Waste Abatement Funds within the region. You will also serve as the primary technical representative for the department throughout all project phases, conducting assessments and site inspections to evaluate the project's scope and ensure the effective implementation of selected actions. Additionally, You will prepare detailed reports on findings and review corrective action plans to ensure compliance with environmental statutes and departmental policies, while also providing technical assistance to legal teams for cost recovery and other legal matters related to these projects.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Travel is required for this positionTelework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
