DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role is tailored to equip individuals for a fulfilling career within the surveying sector. Successful candidates will collaborate with seasoned professionals, gaining hands-on experience with advanced surveying technology while engaging in significant projects that influence communities throughout Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include assisting in the execution of field surveys for various transportation initiatives, such as roadways, bridges, and right-of-way delineations. Trainees will learn to effectively operate essential equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors, while supporting data gathering, computation, and documentation tasks under the guidance of experienced staff. Additionally, participants will engage in office-based survey analysis and map preparation, travel to diverse project sites within their designated region, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and PennDOT regulations during all surveying activities.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
