THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Driver License Examiner, you will conduct standardized examinations to evaluate the skill and competence of both CDL and non-CDL applicants, process test results and applications, and issue driver license and identification card products to eligible applicants. Special attention must be given towards closely examining paperwork and documentation in order to combat identity theft and fraud. Specific duties include determining physical and driving qualifications of applicants and the mechanical conditions of vehicles for conformance to the established standards necessary for safe driving. You will administer telebinocular, color perception, and other tests of vision, in addition to administering non-CDL and CDL examinations to ensure examinee's have a knowledge and understanding of Vehicle Code and traffic signs. Efficient and courteous customer service and communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with the public on a daily basis to respond to a variety of inquiries and assist customers at the Driver License Center by processing applications and paperwork.Interested in learning more?
