About the Position

Third-level seasoned Vocational training position accountable for supervising and instructing clients in complex and advanced career or technical occupational skills (e.g. plumbing, welding, carpentry, automotive mechanics, electrical wiring, metalworking, computer repair, food service, cosmetology, etc.). Accountable for preparing reports based on client attendance, performance, progress, and skills assimilation. Employees may also assist in the development, planning and preparation of the course outline and content.
This position will serve as Cosmetology instructor for the Delta Correctional Facility and must be licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering (MSBCB).

What you'll need to be Successful

You will need to be highly organized, pay close attention to detail, follow MSPB and MDOC Policies and Procedures, have good communication skills, and be able to meet deadlines. Must be able to abide by the rules, regulations, and procedures governing the workplace and ensure the safety, security and order of the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 3+ years of relevant experience/education and/or relevant certifications/licenses.
Agency preferred qualifications:
Required to be currently licensed as a cosmetologist and licensed as cosmetology instructor by the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering, MSBCB. If anyone applies and is licensed to practice cosmetology or nails technology but is not additionally licensed by the MSBCB as a licensed instructor, they cannot be considered
