THE POSITION
The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1 who is ready to support a skilled team at State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Frackville. This role allows you to guide staff and support daily operations that keep the facility running safely. You become part of a team that relies on your leadership and steady decision making. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position helps guide facility maintenance operations and supports the supervision of maintenance and trades staff. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:Daily Operations: Plan, assign, and coordinate work activities to support facility goalsStaff Supervision: Provide direction, training, and oversight for maintenance and trades employeesReport Preparation: Prepare and review reports and records related to safety, inventories, and assignmentsSafety Compliance: Inspect work areas to ensure adherence to safety rules and proper handling of materialsResource Management: Review and manage requests for tools, supplies, and equipment based on operational needsEmergency Response: Respond to urgent situations and address issues that arise after hoursInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry; orSix years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment
