THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated Corrections Counselor 1 to join our treatment team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. By providing counseling services to the inmates, you will make a lasting and positive impact on their lives while preparing them for re-entry into their communities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for providing professional counseling services and casework management to inmates at SCI Camp Hill. Your work will involve conducting individual counseling and assisting inmates in obtaining information regarding employment opportunities and community resources. You will develop, maintain, and present records and reports for managing an inmate caseload. Some of your duties will include analyzing interest and aptitude tests, determining recommended programming, and utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment objectives. Additionally, you will participate in parole planning and make recommendations on re-entry services. Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $55,436.00 (before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Three years and six months as a corrections officer, and 18 college credits in any combination of sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field; orA bachelor’s degree including 18 college credits in any combination of sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 18 college credits in any combination of sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field.Applicants will be considered to ha
