THE POSITION
Are you seeking a role where your expertise in automotive repair supports an important mission as an Automotive Mechanic with the Department of Human Services? This job gives you the opportunity to work on a wide range of vehicles and equipment at South Mountain Restoration Center. You make sure critical systems stay functional and ready for use. Your skill and dedication help maintain a dependable fleet that serves staff and residents every day.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on maintaining and repairing vehicles and power equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation throughout the facility. As a Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:Vehicle Repair: Perform major and minor repairs on cars, trucks, and related equipmentInspection Work: Maintain a valid inspection license and check vehicles for compliance with inspection standardsEquipment Maintenance: Repair transmissions, brakes, clutches, and other automotive componentsFleet Upkeep: Overhaul vehicles, generators, and compressors as neededRecord Keeping: Maintain accurate service records for each vehicleEmergency Support: Respond to urgent equipment needs, especially during winter weatherInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship; orAny combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.Special Requirements:You must possess a current and valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.You must be in possession of a valid Class 1 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Certified Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.Other Requirements:You m
