About the Agency

The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low-income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged, and the disabled.

About the Position

First-level professional Human Resources position accountable for duties that are professional in nature, and employees act as advisers in the Agencies in one or more areas of human resources. Under direct supervision, positions are accountable for duties in agency human resources programs, policies, and procedures related to recruitment and selection, classification, salary analysis, benefits, appointments, and performance evaluation, and ensure that work done is in compliance with relevant federal and state laws. Position may also be responsible for preparing reports at an agency or statewide level that can be used by managers and Statewide HR for the purposes of managing human resources costs. Employees at this level may also direct and review the work, such as payroll and related actions, of lower-level employees. This is a Non-State, TIME-LIMITED (14) position.

The candidate should be able to multitask, pay attention to detail, effectively communicate, have good attendance and punctuality, be reliable, have accountability in all facets, and have a willing and can-do attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience. Agency Prefers: Experience in MAGIC-EC, SPAHRS, Microsoft Office, Adobe, DocuSign are also preferred.
