Day Shift (Sat/Sun Off Days) Semi-Monthly Salary: $1,848.91
We are seeking a positive, energetic, and caring individual for our open full-time Recreation/Music Therapist. We aspire to be a team of talented, compassionate professionals helping our clients in their personal journey of healing, resilience, and recovery, through our exceptional care and our use of the highest quality evidence-based practice. The Recreation/Music Therapist plays a vital role as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery-based environment.
St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center-South provides an array of mental health services to a population primarily comprised of adults 18 years and older who have been committed to the Department of Mental Health. Clients admitted receive a variety of treatments with an overall goal to develop the skills needed to safely and successfully return to a meaningful life in the community.
This position is in our Transitional Rehabilitation Program: a program that works with individuals who benefit from the Illness Management and Recovery model with a focus on emotional regulation and behavior management.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

Assessment of basic skill functioning related to services provided through the Rehabilitation Services Department.

Planning and implementing a wide range of treatment groups designed to meet the social, vocational, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of clients. This could include community engagement and experiences as well.

Case management including developing and maintaining individual treatment plans and related documentation, individual therapy, goal setting, family contact, client advocacy, and out-trip organization.

Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, program meetings, and department meetings.

Competency in the implementation of assigned psychosocial program principles and procedures, as well as program and departmental documentation expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:

College degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related field.

CTRS or Music Therapist Board Certification preferred
