Work Location: District 4 HQ, 2088 S. Arlington Road Akron, OH 44306

You will perform preventative maintenance and service on cars, trucks, and equipment.
You will perform minor repairs or other related mechanical work.
You will maintain records of repairs & maintenance.

Qualifications
-24 mos. exp. in automotive repair & maintenance of variety of vehicles &/or all types of equipment identified by agency; valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
-Or 12 months as ODOT Mechanic Trainee, 52151; valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above, except for mandated licensure.
Valid Class A CDL without air brake restriction, with tanker endorsement must be obtained during probationary period and maintained thereafter.
Background Check:
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.

The selection process for this position will include a structured interview.

Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
All bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one (1) year probationary period.
This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
