Schedule: Part-time; 28 hours weekly

The Salvation Army is seeking a dependable and hardworking
Truck Driver
to join our Morgantown team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our mission by picking up donated goods, delivering merchandise, assisting donors and customers, and helping ensure that valuable resources reach those who need them most. What You'll Do

As a Truck Driver, you will:

Pick up donated goods from homes, businesses, and community partners

Safely transport donations and merchandise to designated locations

Deliver furniture, appliances, and other purchased items to customers

Load and unload donated items, including furniture, household goods, clothing, and food donations

Organize daily routes to maximize efficiency and service

Prepare and maintain donation receipts and delivery records

Build positive relationships with donors and customers through friendly, professional service

Assist with warehouse and thrift store operations as needed

Help sort donations and identify items suitable for resale

Perform routine vehicle inspections and ensure the truck is properly maintained and fueled

Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and Salvation Army vehicle operation standards

Physical & Work Environment

This position involves daily driving and outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions. Team members may encounter heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, and other environmental conditions while serving donors and customers throughout the community.

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.

Mobility (as the Warehouse Worker) are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.

Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck.

Qualifications

Required:

Valid driver's license

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to meet The Salvation Army's vehicle operation and motor vehicle record requirements

Experience driving a large van, box truck, or heavy-duty truck

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Preferred:

At least one year of professional driving experience

Experience in delivery, transportation, warehouse, moving, logistics, or related work

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, donors, and team members

Strong navigation and route-planning skills

Ability to safely operate a box truck or similar vehicle

Ability to follow directions and work independently

Ability to frequently lift, move, and carry heavy items

Ability to remain physically active throughout the workday, including walking, bending, lifting, and climbing as needed
