Job Description
Join The Salvation Army's annual Christmas campaign team and play a vital role in helping bring hope and assistance to the community during the holiday season. As a Driver, you will safely transport toys, coats, Christmas kettles, signage, and other essential supplies to designated locations, ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time. This position requires a dependable individual with a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer service, who can work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support the success of our holiday programs and mission.
This 25 hour per week seasonal position works from mid-October through Christmas Eve. The pay rate is $18/ hour.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Drive vehicle to transport toys, coats, kettles, and other supplies to various locations. Reports vehicle problems as detected.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate a mobile van or its equivalent in size and/or load capacity to pick up and unload various items and deliver to specified destinations as directed
Pick up Christmas Kettles and signage as directed.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance, report any non-routine problems or malfunctioning equipment to management.
Follows specified instructions, procedures, and standards for the efficient and safe operation of the vehicle.
Conforms to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of a commercial van for passenger use.
Works collaboratively with other members of the staff as well as volunteers to execute the goals of The Salvation Army's annual Christmas campaign.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
One year experience in a driving position preferred; three years licensed driving experience.
Certifications:
Applicant must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age with at least 3 years of general licensed driving experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Skill in the operation of commercial passenger vans or equivalent.
Knowledge of Greater Green Bay and surrounding areas.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of requirements and standards related to the safe and efficient operation of light commercial vehicles
Knowledge of federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of a commercial passenger vehicle.
Excellent customer service skills and friendly demeanor.
Basic capacity in use of personal computer software including Microsoft Office, e-mail, and internet.
Ability to perform routine maintenance on small commercial vehicles and to identify vehicle problems and malfunctions
Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.

The duties of this job will involve spending long hours in an enclosed vehicle, navigating traffic, and regularly lifting items outdoors in various weather conditions. For other duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather and facility conditions prevalent at the time.
This position requires the employee be available to work days, weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
