Job Description

Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. 30 hours per week. Rate of pay is $12.93 per hour. This is a temporary position.

This position is responsible for:

Answers the phone in a courteous manner and directs calls to appropriate destination; records accurate and complete messages when necessary; receives and receipts deliveries and donations; greets and announces visitors and clients; provides general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services; performs routines clerical work such as typing and filing; assists the caseworker; schedules truck donation pickups

Key Responsibilities:

Answers the phone and transfers calls to appropriate destinations

Records accurate and complete messages

Receives, responds to, and assists people requesting social service assistance

Scheudules truck donation pickups

Performs routine clerical work

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to operate a telephone. Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to perform routine mathematical computations. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no discomforts associated with change in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or G.E.D. required,

and

one year of experience working in a position with telephone switchboard responsibilites

or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities.
