About the Position

This position is located in the Food Protection Division of the Mississippi State Department of Health. The position is
for a Retail Food Inspector to be based in the Southern Region working out of the Harrison County area. The duties
include a minimum of 4 retail food inspections per day averaged over the course of each month, food safety public
outreach, training and education of retail food facility management and staff, disaster response, and food protection
sanitation consults

What you'll need to be Successful

Candidate needs to have the ability to analyze a situation and build a possible solution to a process, procedure, or problem. Good communication skills, written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience.
Agency Qualifications: Experience in the food service industry with knowledge of food safety regulations, required.
Experience in food permits, invoicing, and Food Protection's overall process are preferred.
