About the Position

This is a time limited position. This job opportunity is in the Public Safety Planning Division, CANTON, MS, in MADISON COUNTY. This mid-level program will serve under the Impaired Driving Program and will be responsible for managing projects funded through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The role will provide effective oversight of grants by reviewing sub-grantee practices, policies, and financial statements to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements. Additionally, the position will identify areas of noncompliance and provide recommendations to support corrective actions and strengthen the program. This role ensures program planning, financial oversight, operational audits, and staff supervision. It supports procurement compliance, monitors grant management and expenditures, and mitigates risks of noncompliance or audit findings pertaining to the Impaired Driving Program.

Strong Communications and interpersonal skills; Analytical skills; Problem solving/decision making skills; Ability to work well independently.
The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience. The agency prefers experience in grant management is preferred but not required. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with sub-grantees, stakeholders, and colleagues.
