About the Agency

The Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration is the primary agency responsible for State government financial and administrative operations, including employee payroll, vendor payments, employee Insurance, construction, maintenance, and protection of State buildings in the Capitol Complex, financial Information management systems, management of the State's vehicle fleet, and numerous other related activities. About the Position

This is a Non-State Service (X-16) Position. First-level supervisory position accountable for overseeing the pilots. Jobs at this level formulate policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations as necessary for the safe operation of state aircraft and establish and enforce safety standards for aircraft and crews. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.

Dependability, excellent verbal and non verbal communication skills, and excellent time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicant must attach a copy of his/her valid Federal Aviation Administration Air Transport Pilot License, Flight Instructor License, and a valid First Class Medical Certificate. Pilot's flight logbook must be available and subject to verification. — Hiring Agency Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and the incumbent must hold a First Class Medical initially and a Second Class Medical thereafter; 2,500 total fixed wing flight hours, 1,000 hours pilot-in-command multi-engine turbine time, 300 hours instrument time, 250 hours jet time, 250 hours turboprop time, 100 hours of flight instruction towards a rating.
