THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Equipment Operator with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our roadways, especially during the critical winter months when snow removal is essential. Your duties encompass not only snow plowing but also participation in various construction projects, where your skills directly impact infrastructure and public safety. Each day offers physically demanding tasks that emphasize teamwork and dedication. In this position, you will operate heavy machinery, perform minor repairs, and conduct routine maintenance on your equipment and vehicles. Additionally, you will keep detailed records through daily logs and reports that monitor equipment usage and maintenance history, which are crucial for operational efficiency and team accountability. At the end of each day, you can take pride in knowing that your contributions significantly enhance road safety and improve the quality of life for many residents, making your role as an Equipment Operator both fulfilling and impactful.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Summer hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Travel, overtime, and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this positio
