JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Office of Science Outreach
in
the Eberly College of Science is currently seeking enthusiastic applicants for
Extended Care Mentors
for the Science-U summer science camp program. Successful applicants will contribute to creating positive camp experiences for our campers during the camp season on the University Park, PA campus
.
Applicants must
possess
excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be prepared to fulfill all job duties related to the Extended Care Mentor position, which include supervising campers in
morning

(7:45 am - 9:00 am)
and afternoon
(3:45 pm - 5:15
pm)
extended
care hours. These positions are ideal for students who want to have daytime hours free for class or lab work.

Requirements:

Demonstrated
success and enthusiasm with K-12 students

E
xcellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills

A
bility to multi-task and learn on-the-job.

Reliability and ability to follow a schedule, which is communicated in advance

Benefits:
A typical work week for most camps is 10-15 hours, with an hourly wage starting at $12.70 per hour.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
