About the Position

This is a time limited position. The Mississippi State Department of Health, Southern Region, is seeking to fill a Nurse Ill vacancy of County Coordinating Nurse of Hancock County. This is a seasoned professional Registered Nurse accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team. Accountable for overseeing more complex or sensitive care, participating as a member of multidisciplinary team providing direct care in a patient care setting, or providing nursing and health services in a public health
program. May be responsible for mentoring or directing the work of lower-level employees. Will serve as a clinic supervisor. The County Coordinating Nurse is responsible for directing public health nursing services of multiple county health department clinics. Duties include: all duties of the county staff nurse or float nurse, planning directing, and supervising the work of county staff nurses and medical aides; monitoring the overall performance and clinic operations of assigned clinics and initiating corrective action as indicated; preparing reports and other documentation for submission to an administrative superior.

Successful candidates should possess excellent multi-talking organizational and communication skills. Employee must prioritize work to meet deadlines and be an effective team player. Employee must be knowledgeable of MSDH Programs and use that knowledge effectively to assist clients in the public.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse and 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
