Job Description
Delaware's Attorney General, the State's
chief law enforcement officer, has a broad responsibility to combat crime,

Public Trust Divisions. Each of the more
than 500 staff members who work in the Office of the Attorney General is
dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity and passion.
Deputy
Attorneys General, with critical support from criminal special investigators,
victim service specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff,
prosecute criminal cases, enforce consumer laws, provide counsel to state
agencies, ensure the public's access to open government, protect the abused,
and much more.
The Criminal Division seeks a Legal
Administrative Specialist to provide clerical/administrative support to Deputy
Attorneys General prosecuting cases in the Felony Trial Unit in New Castle County.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, settng up case files,
running criminal record checks, typing and preparing various documents,
requesting reports, responding to discovery, managing calendars, filing
documents, and preparing witness lists.
This position will also participate in a rotation schedule to provide
backup coverage for the main Criminal Division receptionist to cover lunch
breaks and in the event of an absence.

Applies agency laws, rules, regulations, policies, and
procedures in maintaining and processing agency information.
Serves as a liaison with the public, clients, agency staff
and others to exchange information and explain agency services, laws,
rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Assures effective coordination of operational functions for
assigned unit/attorneys.
Arranges for the delivery of legal paperwork.
Types correspondence and legal paperwork.
Schedules, coordinates, and confirms court dates,
appointments, interviews, intakes, and meetings.
Establishes tracking and monitoring systems and conducts
follow up to ensure timely resolution of matters.
Maintains and controls data and/or filing systems to ensure
effective, accurate and easily retrievable legal documentation.

clients/customers; explaining services to the public and customers/clients;
establishing or maintaining filing/record systems.
2. One year of experience in document
processing which includes reviewing and evaluating records for completeness and
conformity with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures,
resolve deficiencies, interpret information, and track and monitor activities.
3. One year of experience in using
standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or
databases.
4. Six months experience in using an
