DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Juvenile Justice Specialist Supervisor, you will provide active supervision and leadership to a team dedicated to the guidance and treatment of court-adjudicated youth within a secure setting. Your primary responsibilities will include assigning staff tasks, ensuring the timely completion of reports, and participating directly in the daily physical care and custody of residents. You will oversee various activities, ranging from personal hygiene and housekeeping to recreation and program requirements, ensuring a structured environment. In collaboration with professional staff, you will assist in implementing specialized treatment plans and documenting the progress of youth toward their behavioral goals. A significant portion of this role involves communicating with residents to provide insight into their thought processes and fostering responsible attitudes. To maintain safety, you will be responsible for intervening in disruptive or high-risk situations, utilizing verbal de-escalation and approved physical restraint techniques to prevent escapes and manage aggressive behavior, thereby ensuring a secure and therapeutic environment.  Interested in learning more? The 8-hour shifts normally consist of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with no duty-free lunch. You will have a 5-day work week with 2 regular days off.
