Healthcare CTE Teacher Substitute/On-Call (Remote)

General Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Program director, the Healthcare CTE Substitute Teacher supports the design and implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and behavior management strategies via online courses to facilitate learning and promote positive behavior change for at risk students. Assignment: We are building a substitute teacher pool to serve our CTE Cooperative. This position is on call, as needed and is remote. Essential Functions/Other Functions Essential Functions: Implement lesson plans in a remote classroom setting via Zoom using researched based teaching strategies that meet Washington state essential academic learning requirements and meet student's individualized goals and objectives. Implement and continuously adjust instructional strategies to meet student individualized goals and objectives. Communicate with school personnel and gather information regarding educational needs. Implement assessment strategies and collect continuous performance data to assess progress on student goals and objectives. Create and maintain a classroom environment and behavior management plan that facilitates learning and promotes positive student behaviors. Implement career exploration opportunities that enhance educational and personal development goals and provides a service to the community. Work cooperatively and communicate with program staff, community resource team and parents. Gather data and prepare required reports and records. Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position. Other Functions: Other duties as assigned. Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED. Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Washington teacher certificate, substitute teacher certificate or emergency substitute teacher certificate. Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience teaching in a virtual/remote classroom. Hold Career Technical Education endorsements in core subjects of Healthcare, Allied Health or Biology/Health for high school or a teaching endorsement in Biology or Health Sciences. Employment Requirements: Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the WSP and FBI.
