THE POSITION
Join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as a Forest Maintenance Supervisor and make a meaningful impact on state forests. This position offers a chance to lead crews who maintain the places people rely on for outdoor recreation. Your work helps protect important forest resources. Take on a role that supports the beauty and safety of Pennsylvania's woodlands.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will oversee crews who maintain, repair, and improve roads, trails, and facilities across state forest lands. You will ensure safe, efficient operations while supporting forest management goals. As a Forest Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:Supervisory Leadership: Guide crews as they carry out maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across state forest landsFacility Upkeep: Oversee the care of roads, trails, buildings, and recreation areas to ensure safe and reliable public accessEquipment Oversight: Monitor vehicles and machinery to keep equipment in proper working order and coordinate needed repairsFire Readiness: Support wildfire response through supervision, training, and participation in suppression activitiesSafety Focus: Promote safe work practices by identifying hazards and ensuring proper safety procedures are followedInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday- Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday, with a 30-minute lunch, Monday off.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Four years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience which includes one year in the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Special Requirements:This position requires possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's license (CDL).Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
