THE POSITION

As a Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor for the Department of Human Services, you will help shape high-quality psychiatric care at Norristown State Hospital. This position gives you the chance to guide nursing teams while supporting patients with diverse behavioral and psychiatric needs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides leadership and oversight for nursing care delivered to patients with serious psychiatric and behavioral needs within the forensic treatment setting. As a Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:Staff Supervision: Direct and evaluate nursing and forensic staff to ensure effective patient careCare Oversight: Monitor treatment areas to maintain a safe and therapeutic environmentTraining Support: Provide orientation, education, and on-the-job training for nursing personnelEmergency Response: Address psychiatric emergencies and guide staff in safe intervention practicesPerformance Management: Coach, assess, and document employee performance and development needsCommunication Coordination: Share important clinical information with teams, leadership, and support servicesInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) with rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays, and a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.Overtime as required and subject to emergency call in. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
