Agency Overview
The Office of the Auditor of State (AOS) receives many allegations of fraud. The result of these allegations may result in execution of an investigative audit by the AOS Special Investigations Unit. A forensic audit is performed by forensic auditors and law enforcement officials for the purpose of pursuing and prosecuting fraud and corruption where it exists in Ohio's government entities.
Job Description
What will you be doing?
Forensic Auditors are responsible for performing fieldwork associated with that of an experienced Audit Staff or Auditors in Charge at a Certified Public Accounting Firm. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining an understanding of client internal controls and financial procedures, implementing AOS approach for performing forensic audits, executing fraud detection techniques, preparing audit summaries, and preparing audit comments and findings.
Location:
The SIU is currently seeking to fill one vacancy throughout the East Region area (Summit, Portage, Stark, Carroll, Jefferson, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull.) Auditors are responsible for covering fraud investigations taking place in their geographic quadrant.

Qualifications
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
3 or more years experience in external audit environment
Must have a valid Ohio driver's license.
Experience with governmental financial accounting, reporting, and auditing is desirable and experience in fraud examination
is a plus
Professional Certification as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Fraud Examiner
is a plus
