THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections is on the lookout for a Field Investigator who will play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals transitioning from community corrections centers or contracted facilities reintegrate smoothly into their home communities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Field Investigator, your primary responsibilities will involve conducting thorough investigations into furlough cases and performing comprehensive criminal background checks on all individuals sponsoring furloughs. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining detailed case files, drafting written reports, and composing formal correspondence to judges and correctional facilities that includes critical investigative findings. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping an accurate logbook and reaching out to various agencies to gather information regarding any potential issues related to the re-entrant's furlough application. Your keen observational skills will be essential in identifying areas of concern, and you will be expected to provide valuable insights to your colleagues regarding furlough decisions. Furthermore, it is imperative that you report any unusual, threatening, or non-compliant behaviors or situations that may arise during your investigations, ensuring the safety and integrity of the furlough process.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work weekWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week upon successful completion of training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Jenkintown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
