The Department of Human Services, Wernersville State Hospital is on the lookout for Equipment Operator As to complete our team. This position gives you the opportunity to utilize your specialized skill set to to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of our State Mental Health Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Equipment Operator A, your primary role will be to provide on grounds transportation for consumers, although other duties will be assigned as needed. Work involves operating a variety of equipment and vehicles to transport supplies, ensure the grounds are maintained in a safe and attractive condition, as well as perform snow and ice removal. You will be responsible for completing general maintenance of equipment and vehicles to include, cleaning the interior and exterior, waxing, performing minor repairs and preventive maintenance, and/or assisting the automotive mechanic with major repairs. You will be expected to complete safety checks and inspections of equipment prior to leaving grounds in order to maintain compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, work every 3rd or 4th weekend, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule may changed based on operational needs. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; orAny equivalent combina
