THE POSITION
Take the first step toward a rewarding public service career! The Department of Human Services is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Early Learning Program Certification Representatives to join our team in the Office of Child Development and Early Learning. By inspecting childcare facilities, you will help the Bureau of Certification Services continue licensing entities implementing childcare. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will inspect childcare facilities and assess their compliance with regulations to ensure the health and safety of children in regulated childcare settings. Your work will involve conducting complaint investigations when allegations of regulatory noncompliance are alleged by travelling to facilities throughout the region. You will also investigate allegations of illegally operating facilities. Some of your duties will include performing follow-up activities, testifying at hearings, and providing technical assistance regarding state laws and regulations. Additionally, you will work with other departmental offices and other agencies by attending meetings and commenting on drafts for regulations, policy, procedures, protocols, and program initiatives.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.You must be willing to travel frequently, including overnight. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor’s degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; orAn equivalent combin
