THE POSITION

Do you want to utilize your skills to help inmates struggling with addiction? The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 2, you provide alcohol and other drug treatment services to the inmate population in both the Outpatient and Therapeutic Community Programs. You conduct initial assessment interviews, make preliminary recommendations for programming needs, provide individual and group therapy, and monitor or coordinate self-help groups. You will also maintain case history files on inmate drug and alcohol use or abuse, complete charts for assigned caseload, and ensure required forms are completed accurately. This role requires thorough understanding of effective processes used to rehabilitate inmates combined with a genuine desire to promote positive cognitive and behavioral changes that will enhance successful reentry into the community. In addition, you will make recommendations for parole planning, commutation, program levels, and community corrections center referrals.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $63,301.00 (before taxes). You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
