Job Description

The Division of Parks and Recreation operates and maintains 17 state parks and related preserves and greenways throughout Delaware. The state's land protection programs are also administered by the Division. The Division is additionally responsible for providing recreational opportunities and educational and interpretive programs for the public.

The Division of Parks & Recreation owns/maintains over 40 tenant houses statewide. This year-round position will be responsible for the tracking and execution of building maintenance for 24 units throughout the northern portion of the state.

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. •Performs repairs and upgrades to rental units within the northern region.
•Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance within intern housing units.
•Assists Housing Administrator with annual housing inspections.
•Assists Housing Administrator with maintaining current lists for tasks to be completed for each unit.
•Acts as liaison between Housing Administrator and contractors to ensure contracted work is completed in a timely manner and meets the Division's standard.
•Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
•Maintain a positive attitude.
•Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: 1. Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC. 2. Six months experience in record keeping. 3. Knowledge of estimating cost, time, and materials for projects. 4. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
