THE POSITION

As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor with the Department of Corrections, you will guide inmates through classroom and on-the-job electrical training at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Chester. This role encourages teamwork, discipline, and steady learning in a structured environment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role provides electrical instruction and oversees daily training that strengthens both safety and skill development. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:Electrical Instruction: Teach electrical trade practices in both classroom and on-the-job settingsTraining Oversight: Guide inmate work crews and monitor progress, attendance, and daily assignmentsWork Inspection: Review completed electrical work to ensure safety, accuracy, and proper techniqueTool Management: Issue, track, and secure tools and materials needed for training and work assignmentsMaterial Planning: Identify required materials and submit purchase requests to support electrical projectsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40-hour work weekWork hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes).
