THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Danville State Hospital is looking for dedicated individuals to work in our facility. We are seeking hardworking, enthusiastic, and compassionate employees to join our team. The Danville State Hospital has many opportunities for Aide Trainees. These are entry level positions with lots of room for advancement.Join Danville State Hospital in this extremely important work providing care for Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable citizens.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Aide Trainee will attend training sessions designed to teach employees how to care for and support consumers in a mental health treatment setting. Training will consist of paid classroom and on-the-job training in an actual consumer setting. Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period, the Aide Trainee will be promoted to a Psychiatric Aide (PA) with responsibility for the full scope of care and support to consumers living at the facility. Promotion to the PA job title includes an increase in the hourly pay rate for the position.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding the duties of this position may be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours: 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM), 2nd shift (2:45 PM - 11:15 PM) and 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) 30 min lunch for 1st & 2nd shift; no lunch for 3rd shift2nd and 3rd shifts receive shift differential2nd shift - $1.25 an hour3rd shift - $1.15 an hourEvery other weekend rotation.
