Transportation Engineer 3/Construction Project Engineer, PN 20060692
Will manage construction projects in the southern portion of District 7: Miami, Clark, Greene, &/or Montgomery Counties
.
What You Will do:
Administer transportation projects from the preconstruction meeting through the finalization process including running meetings, writing change orders, approving materials and processing estimates for payment.
Work with contractors to resolve issues in the field.
Interpret plans for construction and ensure that the contractor is in compliance with plans and specifications.
Monitor maintenance of traffic operations on projects to ensure that our work zones are safe for the motoring public.
Supervise lower-level engineers, managers and highway technicians (inspectors) that are working on your assigned projects.

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e., conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.

Supplemental Information
All exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one-year probationary period. This position is overtime exempt based on FLSA Standards. If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
This position has been designated as a Career Professional position per the Ohio Revised Code 5501.20.
